MOSCOW, Jan 20 (PRIME) -- The cargo loading of Russian Railways fell by 7% on the year in January against a planned growth of 3%, but the situation has changed, CEO Oleg Belozyorov told reporters Wednesday.
“We digressed by 10% from the plan three days ago. We’ve set an increased plan, wanted to raise loading by 3% on the year. So, there was a 7% decrease on the year,” he said.
He added that any small change is significant as volumes in January are low, and a positive outcome is still possible.
“The figures have changed in recent days. I am speaking about several percent within a few last days. We will understand the whole picture closer to somewhere around January 28–29,” he said.
In 2015, Russian Railways’ cargo loading fell 1% on the year. The company expects the loading to rise 1.6% in 2016.
